Toronto Celebrates Freedom Day

The South African Consulate General celebrated the 15th anniversary of South Africa's democratic rule on April 28th at The Novotel Toronto North York Hotel in Toronto, Canada. The High Commissioner of the Republic of South Africa Dr. Abe Nkomo outlined South Africa's achievements when he addressed the gathering "South Africa has made great progress towards the achievement of the goals we enunciated as we took the first steps as a new democracy. As a people united, we succeeded to build a better South Africa, and to contribute to a better Africa and a better world. We have laid a strong foundation for a brighter future for all South Africans in the years to come."
